The summer of 2024 will be our 12th summer to offer this opportunity for young adults to serve in our camping ministry as summer staff. Your season begins May 24 and ends August 5 (subject to change).

Camp Nurse
Nurse Intern Job at Disciples Crossing
Nursing students: have you ever wanted a summer job at a camp?
Disciples Crossing Camp in Athens, Texas, is hiring a Nurse intern for summer 2024! This is our 5th summer to offer this program.
This position is responsible for managing the healthcare and First Aid needs of campers. The nurse intern will help with daily distribution of camper medications in accordance with doctors' prescriptions, will administer First Aid when needed, and will ensure the safety of campers and all participants at all times.

We're hiring paid, part-time positions. See below for details and applications. Preference is given to Guest Services Team Members willing to work in multiple roles!
Lifeguards
Water Recreation (Must be certified as a Lifeguard through a state accredited program, i.e. American Red Cross, YMCA.)
Duties include life guarding, lake duty, pool maintenance, etc...
Prior certification preferred, but not necessary. Training is provided.
This is a part time position and housing is not provided.
Food Service Team
This is a part-time position open year-round. You'll have a chance to earn more hours during the summer and on weekends during our off season (fall-spring).
Prior experience in a commercial or cafeteria style kitchen preferred, but not required. Training is provided.

Housekeeping
This is a part-time position open year-round. You'll have a chance to earn more hours during the summer and on weekends during our off season (fall-spring). Hours are irregular and determined by camp occupancy.
Prior experience in a commercial residential cleaning capacity preferred, but not required. Training is provided.

Camp Counselor
We are looking for Summer Camp Counselors!
Members or affiliates of a Disciples Congregation preferred
Possessing interpersonal and group relational skills
Able to help fulfill programming expectations set forth by camp Directors, Director of Programming, Disciples Crossing Programming Committee, and/or YMC.
Able to encourage and enable youth and children to participate fully in all that the Camp program has to offer.
Communicate by words, actions and attitude the camp philosophy to the campers.
Play a key role in supervising the safety of the camper and the spiritual nurture of the campers entrusted to them for the duration of the event.
There are certain age-requirements to serve. See interest form for more details.
Once you submit an interest form, we will share that information with our volunteer Summer Camp Directors.
Disciples Crossing Youth Ministry Council
Youth Ministry Council Representatives are:
Called to serve God and the Church by representing their youth group & congregations at YMC meetings and Disciples Crossing youth events.
11th and 12th grade students who have a heart for camping ministry & leadership.
