Camp scholarships are available and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. First preference is given to campers affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Campers must fill out the form found below and return it to Disciples Crossing. We encourage the camper’s congregation to pay one half of the total fee, if they are able, with the remainder to be covered by the Potter Fund. This allows us to help as many deserving campers as possible. Once the application is received and processed, the Director of Programming will notify the camper and the congregation of the scholarship amount that has or has not been awarded. You can fax or scan and email the completed form to our office.
Our fax number is 903-677-5753. You can also email Emily Williams at email@example.com.
We encourage applicants to return this form by April 1st in order to ensure an award can be given.
In 2006, Disciples Crossing was blessed to have been the beneficiary of an estate gift from the late Mrs. Lois Potter. Mrs. Potter asked that her gift be used to create a scholarship fund for children and youth who would be attending Disciples of Christ summer camps. The Potter Fund disburses almost $30,000 annually to deserving kids who otherwise might not be able to attend summer camp. We are so grateful for the generosity of Mrs. Potter and for impact that her gift makes on countless lives.
Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for a Potter Fund scholarship are made available when summer camp registration opens, usually around February 15th. All children and youth who have significant financial need and are attending a Disciples of Christ summer camp are eligible to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to award scholarships for fall or midwinter retreats at this time.
