The Main Camp
The Main Camp has the ability to serve 225 campers at one time. Our two dorms, Pine and Lakeside, each have bed capacities for 100 people. The Lodge, the natural focal point for the Main Camp, is a beautifully constructed log cabin steeped in history. It has three private rooms, a kitchen, and a meeting area capable of seating 60 people. The Chapel is our main worship facility and has a maximum seating capacity of 165. It is ideal for groups of 100 to 150. The Dining Hall, conveniently located between The Lodge and The Chapel, is a wonderful building with a lot of character. We also have several smaller meeting rooms spread throughout the camp. Woods meeting room is located below the pool overlooking our private lake. The Bethany Meeting Room is located in the middle of camp by our camp store. Dewberry Hill is just past the Chapel on the way to the Amphitheater and fire pit.
Pine Dorm sleeps 100 people. It has 10 dorm rooms with 10 beds in each room. There are five communal bathrooms in the building, two on each wing and one in the entrance hallway. This building also has a small meeting room located at the front of the building by the main entrance.
Lakeside Dorm, overlooking our beautiful private lake, sleeps 100 people. This is a two-story building with sleeping and meeting spaces on both levels. It has three communal bathrooms.
The Dining Hall
The Dining Hall is conveniently located in the middle of camp between the Lodge and the Chapel. In this building we can serve 180 people at one sitting. This building has some beautiful rustic architecture that adds a good deal of character to the dining room.
The Lodge is original to the property and is the oldest building at Disciples Crossing. It is located in the heart of the camp. The Lodge has three private bedrooms, one shared bathroom facility and a kitchen. It also has a medium sized meeting room that can seat up to 60 people. The Lodge is a wonderful place to sit in one of our many rocking chairs and enjoy a great view of the lake.
The Chapel is our main worship facility. We can seat up to 165 people in this building. This is where most of our camps and retreat groups have their meetings and/or hold worship. The Chapel is equipped with a ceiling mounted projector and a sound system.
The Campbell Cabin is perfect for smaller groups that don't want to rent an entire dorm. Sleeping 20 in two bedrooms, it is perfect for small leadership groups or clergy retreats. Campbell has its own kitchen and meeting room attached to it. Many groups that utilize Campbell choose to prepare their own meals.
Small Group Meeting Areas
- Woods - The Woods Meeting Room is a small meeting room that has the ability to seat about 25 people. Many of our camps use this building as a break-out room for small groups. It has a large front porch that overlooks Lake Underwood.
- Dewberry Hill - Dewberry Hill is a small building that works great as a break-out room or as a storage room for summer camps. This building is newly renovated and seats 15 people.
- Bethany Meeting Room - Bethany is located near the Lodge. It seats up to 50 people comfortably. This building is often used as a registration center for groups and retreats upon arrival.
Amphitheater, Fire Pit and Labyrinth
The amphitheater and camp fire pit is a great place for groups to relax and fellowship in the evening. It is located on the edge of the camp grounds with a great view of the lake and our 60 foot cross. The focal point of the amphitheater is our new prayer labyrinth. It is a great way to spend time in prayer and meditation. At the center of the labyrinth is a fire pit that serves as a place for s'mores and for worship gatherings.
The Main Camp has several opportunities for fun that are available year round, including: basketball, gaga ball, tether ball, volleyball, ping pong, hiking trails, and a large recreation field. We also have a 9 hole disc golf course available for use.
During the summer months our water toys are open for use. In addition to the pool, you will see that the lake is full of toys, including a 50 foot water slide and a blob. Canoes and paddle boats are also available. Disciples Crossing provides certified lifeguards for all of our guests.
Lake Underwood and The Cross
Our private 2 acre lake is named after the Underwood family. The Underwoods were the original owners of the property that is now known as Disciples Crossing. The lake and the view of our iconic 60 foot cross are the focal points of the property. We hope you will take the opportunity to visit Disciples Crossing, and to spend some quiet time with God by the lake.
